“Old Mannish Boy” is something I really labored over. At first it was going to be one or two new songs, coupled with remixed versions of songs from other albums that fit the theme of “aging gracefully”. Well, sometimes art finds its own path, and in the end, it became 11 new and wildly diverse original compositions, plus a version of one of first songs I ever wrote, “Why Do We Abandon the Old People”…plus a remix of a song with gratuitous Turkish flutes from the year I turned 60 that just fit the theme so well.
